Rocky Nook Archaeological Dig 2018

The report for the 2018 Rocky Nook Archaeological Dig can be found here.

If you would like to read reports from past digs, please visit this site and scroll down to the links under the town of Kingston.

The dig will take place on Aug 6-9 between 9 am and 4 pm each day.  Members are welcome to come and dig during any day/time that works for you; you do not have to commit to coming every day or for entire days.

The goal is to learn by doing and what ever you find the archeologist is nearby to explain what you found in your screening.  You need only to bring a set of gloves and dress as you would in gardening.  Don't forget lots of water . The location is a 0.6 mile from Rt. 3A on Howlands Lane in Kingston (link to map). You will see signs at the location. If you have any questions please contact Eldon Gay:  [email protected]

All digging is weather-dependent. All artifacts discovered at the site remain the property of the Pilgrim John Howland Society.
